Yoda And His Wisdom

 

Yoda, the great Jedi master from Star Was, is really one popular movie character. According to Empire magazine, he is ranked as the 25^th greatest movie character of all time. There exists many thing like a Yoda action figure, Toddler Yoda Costume, Yoda shirts, and many more which is a testament to his popularity. Some even dress little children in a Toddler Yoda Costume so they can have their own Yoda.

 

However, we are not here to discuss Yoda's popularity. Sure, Yoda is popular, and this may be due to what he can do and his powers. However, there is one more trait of Yoda that makes him very popular. This trait is his wisdom. Yoda is really full of wisdom, and maybe it is due to his old age. Although at first his sayings don't make any sense, if you ponder on them they are really meaningful sayings.

 

There are many meaningful Yoda saying out there, but listed here are 3 of his many sayings that can be applied to our daily lives.

 

 

No! Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try.

This line is probably one of the most well-known saying of Yoda. This line means that a person should only do or not do a thing. You should not try, for there is no “in between” in doing something. You should not be indecisive, for you can hurt people when they expect something and see nothing. If you really can't do it, just say no. Never try, just do.

 

 

Luke: I can't believe it.

Yoda: That is why you fail.

This short part of a conversation of Yoda and Luke is very meaningful. Yoda means that you should believe even if you do not see. This can be faith in God, faith in other person, etcetera. But this can also be applied to other things, like success. If you don't think that you will succeed, then chances are you are really gonna fail. Believe at something, then make it happen. Do not wait for it to happen before believing.

 

 

But when the day comes that even old Yoda does not learn something from his students-then truly, he shall be a teacher no more.

Yes, you may be smart, but there are still others that is smarter than you. And don't think that because you are smart, you cannot learn something from anybody else. A student and teacher are always learning something from each other. We are always learning, sometimes from unexpected sources. We stop learning when we are dead and they close our coffin.
