Chandrayan's success in exploring the moon by ISRO, a big headway in medium range transport aircraft design by National Aeronautics Limited, the achievement of Agni & Prithvi missile systems by DRDO and the success of indigenous Light Combat Aircraft design by Aeronautical Development Agency are a few examples worth a mention. In line with this trend, VTU started a four years bachelor course in aero engineering in 2006.
