Should action figures be kept in a box or should they be taken out? Will the value soon increase? ?
I have a grey hulk savage Fin Fang Foom! limited edition series and i dont know if it will have future value or resale ability ness. Its a Marvel legeneds build a figure and it says limited edition.
This is a good question with 2 answers. Most people usually always say "keep them in the package!". Sometimes this is not always correct. Collectors who buy buy on a daily basis , as myself, tend to lean towards opened figures more. Why? Because you can't get a genuine condition while it is still in the package. It could be damaged, have paint rubs etc where you can't see them. Also storing figures in the package for long periods of time without moving or damaging take alot out of ya. It's always like babysitting a small child. Make sure it doesn't get damaged, dinged, nicked, scuffed, bent etc. etc. etc.
Costs more to ship a figure in a mint package too. Let alone having it arrive in mint c-10 condition.
The only figures that should stay in their packaging are those that are hard to display. For an example-vintage G.I. Joe 1/6 scale clothing or weapon sets. Vintage Mego 8" dolls.
I hate having paid an arm and a leg for a mint figure just to find it was damaged at the factory decades ago after I opened it.
Many collectors do open some figures. Some do not. It depends on the collectors preference. I have sold "loose" (opened) figures for mint in package prices many times before. So basically ir all depends on the figure.
