Space Clone

In Cinema 4D how do I fill the spaces in a text spline with clone objects (spheres) using the spline effector?

I've cloned 8000 tiny spheres and I'm wanting to animate them from a volume to fill some text. I'm using a spline effector and a text spline, but the clone spheres are gathering along the spline (the edge of the text). Is there a way to maintain the animation but have the spheres fill the text?
