Arsenal snatched an impressive victory over Spanish club giants Barcelona last night. The win is great for the Arsenal team who have really improved this reason. The bets before the game were mostly on Barcelona, everyone expected the Catalan giants to beat Arsenal. Barceloan are generally thought of as the greatest club team in the world, with not a bad player in their ranks, and in Messi, arguably the best in the world.
The teams had recently met and on the surface of it, nothing had changed so many expected a repeat of the previous 4-1 win. Unfortunately for the Catalan giants, Arsenal have matured and are a much more solid, confident side this year. They still have young stars like Jack Whilshire who won't need to use foot care for a few years yet, but their passion and pace combined with the tactical nous and special awareness of players like Fabreagas and Nasri makes for a devastatingly effective side.
And awesomely affective Arsenal proved to be. After an even firts 5-10 minutes Barca began to use their massively effeicient passing abilities to great effect, Messi missed a sitter and Barca continued to dominate. Villa managed to infiltrate Arsenal's high line as Villa scored in teh 26th minuteth minute. Arsenal had no time for beauty products online at half time and were clearly given a motivation, rousing speech which inspired them because they came out in the second all guns blazing.
On balance, honours were even in the 2nd but Arsenal more than deserved the equaliser, having held off the onslaught from Barca for nigh on an hour. Valdes was stunned and the entire team socked. The Gunners piled on the pressure and Ashavin got a skill full second goal soon after coming on for Song. The game will go down in history as a titanic clash and the players will likely be using Body scrub after to get the sweat off.
