how come adults don't play with toys anymore?
i had a huge collection of legos and action figures that i used to play with all the time. it was so fun and every year i asked my parents to buy me a new set for my birthday! i used my imagination and played out all the action scenes with my toys in different stories. my friends would come over and we had fun together playing with all the toys.
but ever since i turned about 12 or 13, the toys suddently didnt seem that fun anymore. now my power ranger collection lie in a big box in the basement untouched and gathering dust. why do we lose interest in toys when we get older?
I'm 57 and I spent last week with my 2 grandchildren aged 11 and 6. I love the old toys and games and every time I see them I take something from when I was a little girl that I loved to play with! This time I took 2 of my favourite games..... Sorry and Chutes & Ladders (called Snakes & Ladders) when I was a kid. My grandson plays with Lego all the time so last time I went up to visit, I took Tinker Toys. I also gave him 2 big Tonka trucks which belonged to my son 30 yrs ago!
I think most adults and older people would love to do things like that.........since most of us aren't into all the Wii, Nintendo and similar games that most kids like now.
I think kids in your age bracked have trouble making your own fun and that skill has been replaced with being entertained. It's really unfortunate because the old games and toys really developed social and interaction skills between people.
