I would like to write a book based of the Star Wars Expanded Universe?
Well,as question says it all.It's going to be titled 'Enforcements' And will take place one year from the last movie (return of the jedi).Would this be intruding copyright?I am a fan of fantasy and sci-fi, i have myself written a book or two about the subject.
There would be no problem writing it but if you tried to publish it without permission from Lucas he would sue your @ss off ... George is pretty protective with his baby.
As it stands now there are almost 100 books written in the Star Wars EU that span the period from the day after the events of ep VI until about 50 years after that so you would have to know those stories to find out if what you plan to write would "fit in" ... if your story can fit in those parameters then you might try submitting your story to DelRey books or LucasFilm to see if they would approve it. The chances of that happening are practically zero though.
On the other hand there are 1000s of fan written stories out there ... under the topic of fan fiction ... there is nothing wrong with doing that. Check out the site www.theforce.net and you will find most of them. They even have a bunch of fan made movies that involve the Star Wars characters and most of them are really good.
Basically if you want to do something "official" the chances are not good that it will happen ... if you want to get into the fan fic & fan flic aspect of it then the sky is the limit.
